Youth Sports Programming for Park Districts and Municipal Facilities

For decades, Hot Shots Sports has been the youth sports programming partner of choice for park districts across the Chicagoland area, and we're now expanding that proven model into the Phoenix and Milwaukee metros. We handle everything from curriculum and coaching to registration, insurance, and on-site supervision — so your team can focus on the community you serve, not the logistics of running classes.

  • Park district partners across three metros
  • Hundreds of active program locations
  • 20+ sports offered, from traditional (basketball, soccer, baseball) to niche (archery, pickleball, ninja warriors, yoga)
  • Decades of operational experience, originating in Illinois
  • Full-time coaching staff (not part-time contractors) with CPR certification
  • Fully insured with general and professional liability coverage

Why Park Districts Partner With Hot Shots

Flex pricing built for your community

We don't run a single rigid fee schedule. Every program can be priced to match your community's demographics — resident and non-resident tiers, sibling discounts, scholarship slots, or flat-rate models. You control the revenue split, and we help you make the math work for your residents.

A dedicated site supervisor at every program

Unlike competitors who rotate part-time instructors through multiple sites, every Hot Shots program has an assigned Site Supervisor who knows your facility, your staff, and your community. They handle day-of logistics, parent questions, and quality control so your rec team doesn't have to.

Full-time, full-benefit coaching staff

Our coaches are full-time employees with health benefits — not independent contractors working a side hustle. That means lower turnover, deeper relationships with participants, and a consistent standard of instruction you can count on season after season. Every coach completes comprehensive training including CPR certification.

Hands-on executive oversight

Hot Shots is not a franchise. Our executive team is directly involved in every region and every major partnership. When something needs to change — a curriculum update, a coaching issue, a new program you want to pilot — you talk to decision-makers, not a distant corporate office.

Custom-tailored class design

We train our staff on flex curriculums — adaptable lesson plans engineered to the specific participants in each class. A beginner-heavy cohort gets more fundamentals; a competitive group gets more gameplay. Your community isn't one-size-fits-all, and neither is our programming.

Comprehensive insurance and compliance

Every Hot Shots program is fully covered by general liability and professional liability insurance, with your park district named as additional insured. We handle background checks, certifications, and required training for every coach and supervisor — so your staff and legal team don't carry that load.

How a Partnership Works

  1. Discovery call — we learn your facility, your community, and what's worked or hasn't in the past.
  2. Custom proposal — within 2 business days, you receive a proposal with sport mix, pricing options, schedule, and revenue-split structure.
  3. Agreement and setup — straightforward partnership agreement; we handle instructor hiring, background checks, insurance Certificates of Insurance, and any required training.
  4. Registration goes live — we integrate with your existing registration system (Active Net, RecTrac, CivicRec, MaxGalaxy) or run ours, whichever you prefer.
  5. Programs run — your Site Supervisor is on-site every day; we provide weekly enrollment reports and monthly financial summaries.
  6. Season wrap and renewal — end-of-season review and planning for the next season together.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the revenue split work?

We offer flexible revenue-split models — traditional tier-based splits (e.g., 70/30, 60/40), flat per-program licensing, rental agreements or hybrid arrangements. The specifics depend on your facility's needs, program size, and registration model. We'll propose options in the initial proposal.

Who provides insurance?

Hot Shots carries general liability and professional liability insurance and provides a Certificate of Insurance naming your park district as additional insured at no cost to you. Workers' compensation on our staff is our responsibility.

Who handles registration and payments?

Your choice. Most partners continue to use their existing registration system and we integrate with it using our proprietary, custom built software system. If you don't have one or want to simplify, we run registration through our platform and remit your share on a regular schedule.

What happens when a class needs to be canceled for weather?

Hot Shots follows your facility's cancellation policy for weather, school closures, and holiday schedules. We provide makeup dates when possible and communicate directly with registered families to minimize the impact on your staff.

Can we customize the program mix?

Yes — in fact, most partners do. We offer 20+ sports; your community might have high demand for flag football and pickleball but minimal interest in archery. Your Site Supervisor and our regional director work with you each season to refine the offering.

How long does it take to launch a new partnership?

Typical timeline is 4 to 8 weeks from signed agreement to first class — faster for park districts with established facilities, longer if we're starting a new sport or location. We can accelerate for summer camps or time-sensitive launches when needed.

How are coaches trained and vetted?

Every Hot Shots coach is a full-time employee, completes background checks, holds CPR certification, and undergoes comprehensive sport-specific training before leading a program. Coaches are evaluated continuously through site supervisor observation and participant feedback.
