Fair Information Practices

The Fair Information Practices Principles form the backbone of privacy law in the United States and the concepts they include have played a significant role in the development of data protection laws around the globe. Understanding the Fair Information Practice Principles and how they should be implemented is critical to comply with the various privacy laws that protect personal information.

In order to be in line with Fair Information Practices we will take the following responsive action, should a data breach occur:

Registration and Payment Processing

Program registration and payment are handled through third-party registration providers, including Active Network, either directly or through our partner facilities (park districts, schools, and private facilities). When you register, the information you provide is collected and processed by the registration provider under its own privacy policy, and the portion needed to administer your program (such as participant name, program, and schedule information) is shared with Hot Shots Sports. All payment transactions are processed through these gateway providers; credit card numbers are not stored or processed on our servers.

Photos and Videos

We may take photographs or video of program activities for use in Hot Shots Sports marketing materials, on our website, and on our social media pages, as permitted under our registration waiver. If you would prefer that you or your child not appear in such materials, contact us at info@hotshots4kids.com and we will accommodate your request.

Biometric Information

We do not collect, capture, purchase, or otherwise obtain biometric identifiers or biometric information (such as fingerprints, voiceprints, or scans of face or hand geometry) as defined by the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA) or similar laws.

We operate programs in Illinois, Wisconsin, and Arizona. Regardless of where you live, you may contact us at info@hotshots4kids.com to request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you or your child, and we will honor your request unless we are required to retain the information by law.

In the event of a data breach affecting your personal information, we will provide notification in accordance with applicable state law, including the Illinois Personal Information Protection Act (815 ILCS 530), Wis. Stat. § 134.98, and Ariz. Rev. Stat. § 18-552, in addition to the email notification described under Fair Information Practices above.

Text Communications

By registering for a Hot Shots Sports program — whether directly through Hot Shots Sports or through one of our partner facilities (including park districts, schools, and private facilities) — and providing your phone number, you consent to receive text messages from Hot Shots Sports. This consent is included in our registration waiver. Messages may include program updates (such as schedule changes, cancellations, and location information), updates pertaining to the services you are enrolled in, and Hot Shots Sports promotions. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.

Sharing of Personal Information

Hot Shots Sports LLC will not share, sell, or disclose your personal information or mobile opt-in data to third parties without your explicit consent, except where required by law. Your information is kept confidential and used solely for the purposes you have agreed to. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with third parties. Text messaging opt-in data is not being shared with third parties.
