Ready to take your game to the next level? Tryout for WCSA’s Travel Basketball team. Teams learn a Pro Style offense integrating the highest court concepts into basic plays from the feeder level in our 3rd/4th teams. With an extensively large playbook, players have limitless opportunities to develop and grow each year as coaches constantly expose them to new ideas, schematics, and designs.

Players also gain access to our intensive Mechanical Training sessions that improve movement efficiency, kinetics and kinematic understanding of how to work with the ball and optimize ability. Come be a part of one of the industry's leaders in development and innovation with coaches trained to emphasize community, personal growth, and group dynamics with an emphasis on personal accountability and technique. 

Games are held on weekends between October and March and practices are once per week for two hours (times and days subject to availability). Game times and dates will vary. Participants who make the team are expected to attend every practice and every game.

The Lil’ Dribblers Basketball program introduces children to the game of basketball in a safe, fun and exciting environment. Our curriculum uses age appropriate activities and games specifically designed to increase balance, body awareness, motor skills, hand eye coordination, listening skills and the ability to follow directions. The Lil’ Dribblers program includes exclusively design equipment tailored to enhance the basketball experience for each participant. The program challenges children to develop new cognitive, physical and social skills. In addition, each child will experience social interaction with children and adults in a fun environment.

Players begin to develop more advanced skills such as various guard/post techniques, setting screens, moving without the ball, and offensive spacing. Defensive instruction includes man-to-man, denying the ball, help-line and boxing out. Players spend time developing their shot using proper mechanics to be effective further from the basket. Scrimmages are played every week.

Athletes qualified for Basketball 202 should possess intermediate shooting and dribbling skills, a basic understanding of the game and are looking for a more competitive basketball experience.

Storm Winter Tryouts

If you enjoy the competition of travel basketball and love the game now is your chance to put your skills to the test! Storm Basketball is designed to promote and support competitive basketball teams, enhance and improve players' skills, and foster a positive environment of sportsmanship and teamwork. Tryouts are held prior to the season and team selection is based on ability, attitude and desire. Winter New Trier Feeder Program: Storm Basketball and Winter New Trier Girl's Feeder are working together to field teams for the Feeder program. This co-sponsored team will allow girl's to play for their community while still being a part of the New Trier Feeder program. The 4th grade teams will play in the Metro League. The 5th & 6th grade teams will play in the Northern Illinois Girls Feeder Basketball Association (NIGFBA). Practice and Games: All teams will practice two times per week. Practices will emphasize skill development and team play. All teams will play between 20+ games which will include tournaments and league play. Tournaments are relatively local with travel time typically one hour and not exceeding two hours. Travel Team Fee: Team fee is $635 plus an additional $150 gear package fee. Payment is required within 48 hours of roster being posted to reserve your spot on the team. No refunds will be issued after payment is received.
